Albert Einstein has been attributed the quote, “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales; if you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.” Today’s roundup of inspired modern bookshelf concepts definitely sparks the imagination in a way that would make Einstein smile, if we do say so ourselves. The Z shelf by Miron Lior is, by all accounts, an awesome optical illusion. Essentially, it presents five shelf surfaces in an undulating zigzag up and down the wall on which it’s mounted, with hidden bookends protruding from the edges and sitting flush with the books resting up against them, concealing their presence. Hang one of these on your wall and your guests will stare in wonder at it from across the room, perplexed as to how your books are suspending themselves in mid-air.

Multifunctional things is right what you need! And especially when your kitchen is small. Toro Legno, an Australian designer, created this kitchen shelf from MDF. This is a bookshelf, a knife stand, a board for cheese and you can also think of some other functions according to your imagination. The shelf is called Kitchen Bull, it works like a bull without taking much space. Why this shape? Because the name of the designer means ‘bull’ in Spanish. $600 for this multifunctional and eco-friendly piece, it’s up to you to decide if it’s much or not, but we think that this bull is worth buying.
