Andrew Williams and Tom Huang collaborated together on the design and construction of this Infinity bench, which explores the possibilities of bamboo strip construction.

The two decided on the idea after building “The Comfort Girls,” a set of three cocktail tables built using the same techniques. Using a similar method of construction as used in canoe building, the pair explored the possibility that the same method could be applied to seating. The bench is designed as public seating for the lobby of a museum or gallery. It reminds me a bit of the work of Matthias Pliessnig. More details on designaw.com.
