Show organizers have announced that the next Malaysian International Furniture Fair will take place March 1-5.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Show organizers have announced that the next Malaysian International Furniture Fair will take place March 1-5.

The show will be held in two primary venues, the Putra World Trade Center and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, both in the center of Kuala Lumpur.

Each year, the event features about 500 exhibitors and draws more than 20,000 visitors from 140 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America and Africa.

In addition to showcasing new residential furniture, the event will feature the 2nd annual Ideation Award, which celebrates the talents and young designers. The theme of the 2011 award will be "New Urbanism, Innovation and Sustainability" and will focus on designs that target single urban consumers.

Exhibitors also will be able to take part in the annual Furniture Excellence Award and the Best Presentation Award.
