The twenty years of Desalto deserved a special celebration, even in a company that is reluctant to be self-celebratory. Yet this seemed to be the right time to mark this important company journey by introducing “Edizioni Desalto”.

With the production of special versions of symbolic objects such as the Entronauta chair and the Liko and Mac tables, the company shows that it is aware of the existence of an increasingly sophisticated market that appreciates the uniqueness of certain limited edition pieces.

The Entronauta chair - created by observing an eggshell, as Blumer affirms, due to the strong resistance that it has in common with this hollow object with thin walls - presents a contribution of originality that lies not only in the form in itself but also in the innovative production process patented by Desalto. A sack of closed fabric that simulates the form of a chair becomes self-supporting through a process of stiffening of the fabric by impregnating it with polyurethane. Each piece comes about different from the others and each chair lends itself particularly to being considered a “unique piece”.

Desalto has decided to produce a limited edition of the Entronauta chair (20 pieces) in wool fabric in a particular blue shade, on the occasion of Desalto 20th anniversary and to celebrate the Entronauta chair that enters the collection of the museum of modern art (MOMA) in New York from March 2010.

Also the Mac table, designed by Pierluigi Cerri in 2007 ispired by abstract and geometrical art of the minimal artist Donal Judd, will be presented in limited edition (20 pieces) completely in aluminium with legs partially lacquered in red. The result is a clean and architectonic design in a light and technical version.
